Group Discussion & Lecturette

Group Discussion & Lecturette

The GTO (Group Testing Officer) series in the SSB interview includes two important tests of communication and personality — Group Discussion (GD) and Lecturette. Both are designed to evaluate a candidate’s clarity of thought, awareness, confidence, and officer-like qualities (OLQs).

At Nimbus Defence Academy, Chandigarh, we train aspirants extensively in these tasks through mock practice, personalised mentorship, and structured feedback, ensuring they stand out during their actual SSB.

Group Discussion (GD)

What is GD?

In GD, candidates are divided into groups of 8–12 and asked to discuss a topic (social, national, or defence-related). Each group gets 2 topics to choose from and about 15–20 minutes to discuss.
